Reasons and considerations that have led to this Rehabilitation/Integration Project:
In a bid to reduce crime ICOWA is more than convince that if the society plays its rightful role of welcome and giving ex-convicts a platform, their lives will change positively and they will cease to be a risk to the society. There are a number of positives that can be exploited by integrating them into the main stream economy. Not only will they provide food on the table for their families but to a very large extent the crime rate will drop as well boasting the GDP of the country.
Providing a second change and a platform for rehabilitation and growth is a key to reducing crime levels. More often than not some people are forced into criminality by situation. With proper guidance and mentoring, many of them would not want to go to prison again.
